About the Collaborative

The Gabriola Health and Wellness Collaborative (GHWC) is a volunteer network of over 40 organizations and individuals working together to enhance health and well-being for Gabriola and area residents. Our membership represents local social service agencies, health care providers, first responders, local government, culture, environment, business, education, recreation and faith organizations.

The mission of the GHWC is to create opportunities among the members for mutual support, shared advocacy and improved use of funding resources, in order to improve the health of all residents.

The form of local government in the Gulf Islands does not include a social planning function. The Collaborative serves that purpose on Gabriola.
